In 2008, after many years of gardening experience and a love of art and design, Julie decided to train in garden design and horticultural plantsmanship at the Berkshire College of Agriculture.
After gaining a BTEC National Award in garden design with a distinction she went on to further her training by taking a degree-level HNC course, where again she achieved a distinction.
In 2008 and 2009 she was a member of the BCA garden design team at the Chelsea Flower Show, both times winning Silver-Gilt medals for their courtyard gardens.
